Valencia College Multi-Factor Authentication Setup

 

This article is intended to help users setup and/or update Multi-Factor Authentication as well as the MS Authenticator App. 


 

1. First go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup, and enter your Valencia College email address. 

2. Enter your password. 

3. Click "No" to opt out of staying signed in. 

4. Click "Next" at the "More information required" prompt.

If you don't want to use the Microsoft Authenticator App, click "I want to set up a different method" then click "Next". 

1. From the "Choose a different method" prompt, select "Phone" then click "Confirm". 

2. Confirm the country code is "United States (+1)" then Enter your mobile phone number. 

3. Check your mobile phone for the text with 6 digit code, enter it and click "Next". 

4. You should see a confirmation, click "Next" then repeat the process for your second method.

6. If you don't want to use the Microsoft Authenticator App, click "I want to set up a different method" then click "Next" and select "Email" and follow the prompts. 

 

 

 

 

Updating Your Multi-Factor Authentication information

Log into office365 account https://www.office.com/ with your Valencia email address and atlas password

If you are unable to log into your office 365 account to make these changes at the start, please contact the service desk at x5555

Click on your profile icon. Located on the top right of the window.

Then click “View Account”

Please click on the Security Info tab on the left side of the page.

Under Security info check for the Default sign-in method

Click “Change” to use the authentication method to which you prefer.

If you wish to update the phone number that is currently in place, look below the Default sign in method to see all listed methods of authentication that may have already been setup for your account. You may edit the authentication methods listed as needed. 

To create the authentication of your choice please hit the Add method button and follow the prompts to which method you prefer.

Once it is finished, the default sign-in method should reflect your changes. It may be necessary to hit the change button once more and select the new/change that was made.
