On-site Vacated Positions
Step 1: Employee returns technology
The employee vacating the related position must return their laptop and charger to their local Campus Security team, their peripherals (including monitors, keyboard/mouse, web cam, dock, headset, etc.) can remain in place and do not have to be returned to campus security.
Step 2: Security returns technology
Campus security will place the laptop/charger in the pre-labeled boxes they have for technology returns and bring the box to the local courier services team.
Step 3: Courier services returns technology
Once courier services receives the laptop/charger from campus security, they will begin the process to return the equipment to the OIT warehouse where it will be placed back into inventory to be re-purposed.
Remote Vacated Positions
Step 1: Employee returns technology
The employee vacating the related position must return all technology equipment to their local Campus Security team including their peripherals (monitors, keyboard/mouse, web cam, dock, headset, etc.).
Step 2: Security returns technology
Campus security will place the laptop/charger in the pre-labeled boxes they have for technology returns and bring the box to the local courier services team. The returned peripherals will be brought to the local CTS team on campus for re-distribution.
Step 3: Courier services returns technology
Once courier services receives the laptop/charger from campus security, they will begin the process to return the equipment to the OIT warehouse where it will be placed back into inventory to be re-purposed.
