TI SmartView Software Setup

 

TI-SmartView™ CE software emulates the TI-84 Plus family of graphing calculators. This software is available to all eligible math faculty members, and requires a log in. This article outlines the experience of installing/logging in to the software in a classroom setting as well as on your college-provided Dell laptop or Mac laptop.


 

Classroom Use

TI SmartView is installed in all classrooms college-wide and may be utilized by eligible faculty members. 
 

  1. Locate and open the TI SmartView application on the desktop (icon can be seen in the image below). 



     
  2. An acceptance screen will prompt, please click 'Accept'



     
  3. You will then be prompted to sign in. On this screen please click the 'LAUNCH SIGN IN' button as seen in the screen shot below. 



     
  4. You will be prompted with a sign in screen in which the 'SIGN IN WITH MICROSOFT' option should be selected (as seen in the image below)



     
  5. You will then see the familiar microsoft login screen where you will input your full Valencia email address and click next to enter your password (and authenticate)

     

     
  6. You will now see the Sign In Success Screen (image below)



     
  7. You may now navigate back to the TI SmartView application and begin use.

        

     


College-Provided Dell Laptop

If it is desired, you may install the software on your Valencia provided laptop. 

 

  1. Open Software Center on your desktop. 


     
  2. Locate and double click the TI Smartview application as seen in the screen shot below.
     



     
  3. On the following screen, click the red 'Install' button.



     
  4. Once the install is complete, locate and open the TI SmartView application on your desktop (icon can be seen in the image below). 



     
  5. An acceptance screen will prompt, please click 'Accept'



     
  6. You will then be prompted to sign in. On this screen please click the 'LAUNCH SIGN IN' button as seen in the screen shot below. 



     
  7. You will be prompted with a sign in screen in which the 'SIGN IN WITH MICROSOFT' option should be selected (as seen in the image below)



     
  8. You will then see the familiar Microsoft login screen where you will input your full Valencia email address and click next to enter your password (and authenticate)

     

     
  9. You will now see the Sign In Success Screen (image below)



     
  10. You may now navigate back to the TI SmartView application and begin use.

        

 

 

College-Provided Mac Laptop

  1. Click Here Download the installer; Select the “Macintosh” version.



     
  2. After installing the program, navigate to your Downloads folder and it should be at the top of the list.



     
  3. Double clicking on the program opens the contents. Launch the .pkg. This will launch the TI-SmartView Installer. Click Continue to proceed through the install process.

           


     
  4. The second page of the installer is informing the user of how much space the program will take up on their hard drive. To continue, press Install.



     
  5. Pressing the Install button in step 4 will bring up an administrator confirmation prompt. If you have biometrics (Fingerprint) set up you can use that, if not you can select the Use Password option.



     
  6. After confirming with your password or with biometrics, you will see the program installing. This can take some time, and when it is done you will see the following screen. You can press the Close button.



     
  7. Pressing the close button will prompt a request to move the TI-SmartView installer to your trash bin. This is a user’s choice, but it is recommended to say yes.


     
  8. Upon the first time launching you will be prompted to sign in or purchase a license. You will select “Launch sign in” as you seen in the screenshot.


     
  9. "Launch sign in" will take you to the Texas Instruments web page in your default browser, in this case Firefox. From here you will select “Sign in with Microsoft”.


     
  10. After clicking “Sign in with Microsoft” you will be taken to a new page to sign in. Here you will use your Atlas credentials. That would be your full email address and then press “Next”.


     
  11. After putting in your Valencia email address you will be prompted to put in the password associated with your account. After you put this in press next again.


     
  12. It is likely you will be prompted to also use 2 Factor authentication to proceed. Verify your identity with your associated authentication method, in this case the Microsoft Authenticator Application.



     
  13. After successfully signing in you will see the following screen. You may minimize or close your browser at this time.


     
  14. The application should automatically launch after successfully signing in.
