[Web] Localist Events Calendar Create an Event

Instructions to create a new event in Localist college wide events calendar.

College wide Events Calendar

The PR and social media team use the Valencia Events Calendar to identify upcoming events to promote on our social media profiles. The best way to make sure they find your event, is to submit/create an event in the Valencia Events Calendar

Log In

Log in with your Valencia College credentials (Atlas username/password)

Choose "Log in with School ID" (red button)

 

Create

Steps to create and submit your event.

  • Click the yellow button “Submit an Event” 
  • Add as much detail as you can 
  • Empty fields will not display to the public (on the front end) 
  • Required fields – Event Title, Location and Date are required 
    • Place – start typing the campus location then select from the preloaded options 
    • Campus – You must choose a campus 
    • Group – choose as many groups that apply to the event 
  • Images should be horizontal orientation, recommended size is no less than 800x600 – the bigger the better, the system will resize it to fit 

 

Promote

Publish your event to Valencia Events once and we'll take care of the rest… 

  • Homepage "Upcoming Events" region – the next four featured events in chronological order 
  • Mobile app "Events" icon – campus-specific events for students 
  • Atlas Students tab, "Student Activities" channel – campus-specific events for students 
  • Facebook Page – weekly post every Monday with a link to the events for thisweek 
  • Coming Soon:  AxisTV Digital Displays on each campus – campus-specific events, Skillshops and activities for students
