Limiting access to our network closets or IDFs (Intermediate Distribution Frames) is crucial for maintaining the integrity and security of our network infrastructure. These rooms serve as central points for distributing network connectivity throughout our campuses, which makes them prime targets for unauthorized access. Restricting access to these rooms helps to mitigate the risk of cyber threats and maintain the reliability and confidentiality of their network.
Effective immediately Security will restrict all vendor access to these rooms unless a Vendor IDF Access Request Form has been submitted at least 24 to 48 hours in advance of the vendors visit.
