OIT Minimum Security Specifications for Personally Owned Devices Used to Access Entity Data and Information Technology Resources

• Device must be maintained at a current Vendor supported operating systems.
• Operating system must be OEM issued and supplied by the vendor.
• Device must have passcode / screen lock enabled.
• Device must have and maintain antivirus software where applicable.
• Passwords and passcodes must meet the complexity requirements of Valencia College.
• Multi-Factor Authentication must be enabled (where applicable) when access entity data.
• If the devices supports data encryption it must be enable.
• Lost or stolen devices must be reported to OIT.
• All data must be removed from the device before it is repurposed or no longer used to access the college’s systems.
• Devices that access the college’s data and or network may be removed / wiped at the college’s discretion.  
• Access to some applications or network locations may not be available.

It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure the physical security and appropriate use of the device.
