MyVC Events - Adding Events with Multiple Dates

Creating Multi-Day and Recurring Events in Pathify

Overview

When creating events in Pathify, it is important to use either a date range or a recurrence pattern, depending on the type of event.

Using both a multi-day date range and recurrence together can cause the event to display multiple times on the same day in the Events & Calendars view.

Understanding the Difference

Option 1: Single Multi-Day Event

Use this option for:

  • Art exhibits
  • Awareness campaigns
  • Displays
  • Other events that run continuously over several days or weeks

Example:

Setting Value
From September 17, 2026
To October 16, 2026
Repeat Doesn't Repeat

This creates one event that spans the entire date range.

Option 2: Recurring Event

Use this option for:

  • Weekly meetings
  • Daily workshops
  • Classes
  • Repeated activities occurring at specific times

Example:

Setting Value
From October 15, 2026, 7:30 PM
To October 15, 2026, 9:30 PM
Repeat Every day for 4 times

This creates four individual event occurrences.

Avoid Combining Both Methods

When setting up a recurring event:

✅ Use the Repeat option to determine how often the event occurs.

✅ Set the From and To dates/times for a single occurrence.

❌ Do not create a multi-week date range and also apply a recurrence pattern.

Example of an Incorrect Setup

Setting Value
From September 23, 2026
To October 21, 2026
Repeat Every weekday until October 17, 2026

Because the event spans multiple weeks and also repeats, Pathify may create overlapping occurrences that can appear as duplicate entries in the calendar.

Recommended Configuration

For Exhibits and Displays

Use:

  • Start date of the exhibit
  • End date of the exhibit
  • Doesn't Repeat

Example:

Event Title

  • From: September 17, 2026
  • To: October 16, 2026
  • Repeat: Doesn't Repeat

For Events Occurring Multiple Times

Use:

  • Start and end date/time for one occurrence
  • Repeat setting to define the series

Example:

  • From: October 15, 2026, 7:30 PM
  • To: October 15, 2026, 9:30 PM
  • Repeat: Every day for 4 times

Visual Example

The image below shows a recurring event configuration. When using Repeat, the From and To values should represent a single occurrence of the event.

Use either the event date range OR the Repeat option to control the schedule, not both simultaneously.

Tip: If an event appears multiple times under the same date in Pathify, review the Date & Time section first to determine whether both a multi-day date range and a recurrence pattern have been configured.
