Policy Statement:
Valencia College recognizes that part of the purpose of an academic institution is the advancement of new knowledge. Toward this end, faculty are allowed and encouraged to carry out research in their disciplines and along pedagogical lines. This research will ordinarily supplement their normal instructional responsibilities. Funding for released time for faculty research may be provided through Staff and Program Development, grants, or other sources.
Approval for released time is required from the appropriate department chair and campus president or other designee of the president.
