How to view a Class List

Summary

How to view the class roster | class roll | class list in MyVC.

Body

The Class List tool is used to view the list of students in a class. If you want to email students in your class, that functionality is available in Canvas's Inbox. Accessing class lists are different based on employee type because faculty and staff have access to different systems.



Employee Access Distinction
Faculty: Class Rosters can be viewed via Faculty Self-Service
(User must have the Faculty Role and must be an assigned instructor for the CRN. Academic departments setting up this access)

Staff: Class Rosters can be viewed via the Banner Form SFASLST
(User must have a Banner Role that grants access to SFASLST. User’s supervisor must submit a Banner & Network Access Request)



Faculty Instructions
1) Log into MyVC
2) Navigate to "Faculty Quick Links"
3) Then click "Faculty Services"

4) Click on "Faculty Class List"

5) Click on the course to view its roster

6) A list of students in the class will be generated

6) The list may be printed or exported using the Export or Print buttons at the top right of the list

Staff Instructions
1) Log in to Banner
A textbox for searching forms is in the middle of the page

2) Open form SFASLST (permission required)

3) Enter the Term and
4) Enter the CRN of the course's roster to view
5) Click Go
The top two fields are Term and CRN. The Go button is to the right

(Optional) To export the list:
6) Click Tools at the top right
7) Click Export on the menu
